Dear Diary,
Once upon a time, weren’t blogs basically an online diary? Maybe I’m wrong? All I know is once upon a time I used to write about my day, daily. Though I didn’t mean it to be about my finding whatever funny thing happened to me in the day, it usually turned out that I was writing about something funny that happened to me on that day. It’s been a long time since I wrote in that fashion. I think I had a severe case of adulting that took over and my writing dried up. That, and my preferred blogging platform bit the dust. RIP Yahoo360.
For the past decade or so I’ve still made daily observations, but they were mostly to me, myself, and I. I still wrote daily, but again, it was to me, myself, and I. Occasionally I’d post on my socials about some funny this or that, but my daily write was mostly contained to my own private musings.
I wonder if my writing about the funny attracted more of the same into my life, or if I just became more attuned to it? I’ve always enjoyed irony. I’ve always enjoyed serendipity. And more than anything, I’ve always enjoyed a good and ridiculous story. It was like I was waiting, daring the Universe to deliver me the silly, the redonkulous, and the cringe. And on the (mostly) daily, it was there. Of course, the Universe had me to work with and I’m all sort os silly, redonkulous, and cringe. That was younger me, imagine what the Universe would have to work with now, if I would allow it to?!
Clears throat…
Clears throat again….
Ummmm…. Urrrg. I’ve got nothing. Nothing really happened to me today. And, really, nothing’s going to happen to me if I never leave my house. Good thing I’m days away from leaving for an away staycation!!! That’s a phrase I just coined to describe what I’m gonna be doing. Away-Staycation is where I travel 604 miles to stay at my BFF’s home for a week. Since I work remotely and I can work ANYwhere, we decided that I might as well work at her home, if I have to work. I decided to finally make it happen, purchased a plane ticket, and next week I’ll be working remotely from her home, instead of mine! WOOT!! However, it’s gonna be a staycation, meaning that I’ll also be taking some vacation time and we’ll be hitting up some of my old hangouts (since I’m from that area) and she’ll introduce me to what will no doubt become some of my favorite new places.
Adventure awaits!!! And, I vow to find the silly, the redonkulous, and all of the cringe.
To be continued……
